Psoas muscle area: a new standard for frailty assessment in cardiac surgery?

Most would agree that a successful cardiac operation ends with a live patient who is able to return to a functional and productive life. When evaluating candidates for surgery, a risk/benefit analysis must be performed that takes into account the likely short- and long-term outcomes for the patient.
