abstract = {Esophagectomy is a high-risk surgical procedure with significant postoperative morbidity and mortality. Proper fluid management is essential to reduce postoperative pulmonary complications. Restrictive management is advocated in ERAS based protocols and recent guidelines for esophagectomy, however Goal Directed treatment may be useful. Perioperative fluid management must always be seen in light of a multi modal approach and must be balanced at the needs of the patient and the surgical approach chosen.},
