Pr. Marios Froudarakis is actually Head Professor and Chief of the Department of Respiratory Medicine at the University Hospital of Alexandroupolis, Greece

Pr. Froudarakis obtained his Medical Doctor degree from the University Jean Monnet of Saint-Etienne, France. He owns also the boards of Clinical Oncology (University of Paris XI), Respiratory Medicine, PhD (University of Crete, Greece) and Habilitation à Diriger la Recherche (HDR) from the University of Saint-Etienne.

His main interest is focused on thoracic malignancies, pleural disease and interventional pulmonology. He has published more than 100 peer-reviewedarticles, which have been cited about 2500 times. He served as a tutor of many master and PhD students in both Greece and France. He was running for 15 years the ERS course on Medical Thoracoscopy, and he serves as invited faculty or tutor in many international congresses, including the ERS, ATS, WABIP and EABIP. He is responsible of the training in Respiratory Medicine and Pathophysiology of both students and fellows at the Medical School and Department of the University Hospital of Alexandroupolis.

The Department of Respiratory Disease of Alexandroupolis of which he is Head since 2014, treats the whole spectrum of Respiratory Diseases including acute and chronic diseases, respiratory failure, sleep, thoracic cancers, and ILDs. Furthermore, the Department is a recognized international Center of Excellence in Interventional Pulmonology (diagnostic and therapeutic procedures with rigid bronchoscopy and thoracoscopy) by training a great number of fellows coming from many different countries all over the world.
