Marie Carmen Valenza is associate professor of cardiorespiratory Physiotherapy in University of Granada. She is part of different respiratory research and clinical societies. She is actually leading different funded projects related to COPD hospitalization due to acute exacerbation and lung resection. She has also been granted with different research stays in Belgium, Canada, EEUU and Sweden.  Her current research interests are focused on the role of electrostimulation on the physical condition in different respiratory conditions during hospitalization. Additionally, she has an interest in the impact of hospitalization on physicaland general conditions of the patient. The translational aspects related to functional impairment in breathing disorders and a deep interest in the cardiorespiratory repercussions of neurological diseases.

She is currently reviewing manuscripts for more than 20 journals about physiotherapy and Pneumology, having published more than 60 original articles and reviews.
