Dr. Leonardo Duranti, 07/31/1979, is a Thoracic Surgeon at National Cancer Institute, Milan, Italy. He completed his Surgical Residence at University of Pisa, in Tuscany, in 2009.

In 2009, Dr Leonardo Duranti left from Tuscany to go to work in Milan at historical National Cancer Institute. He became Phd in 2014 at the University of Milan , with thesis : “New reconstructive techniques after major resections of the thoracic wall by applying bio-compatible prostheses: from replacement to remodeling”.

From 2009 he focused his clinical activity on oncological thoracic surgery: lung cancer, broncho-vascular reconstructions, mediastinal tumors (especially thymic malignancies and germ cells, and also mediastinal sarcomas), oesophageal cancer, chest wall surgery (especially for sarcomas), pleural mesothelioma surgery; expertise on “open extended” and “minimally-invasive” surgery (such as VTS procedure).

Due to multidisciplinary approach of National Cancer Institute and “Rare tumors Net”, he developed a particular expertise also on rare oncological diseases of thorax.

He has participated in many clinical trials.
He has published 26 indexed papers about Thoracic Surgery.
