Dr. Kaneko graduated from Keio University in Tokyo, Japan. He completed his Cardiothoracic Surgery Residency at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital. In 2014, Dr. Kaneko joined the faculty at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital and has stayed on since. 

Dr. Kaneko is the Director of Aortic Surgery, Director of Clinical Outcomes Research, Program Director for Advanced Cardiac Surgery, Brigham and Women’s Hospital. He is subcommittee member of ACC/STS TVT registry R&P committee. He is the member for Society of Thoracic Surgery, Southern Thoracic Surgical Association, American Association of Thoracic Surgery, Fellow of American College of Surgery and Fellow of American College of Cardiology.

 Dr. Kaneko’s research focuses valvular and aortic surgery especially endovascular procedures. He has been the Principal Investigator or Co-PI on over 11 funded grants. He is a reviewer for over 15 journals. He has published over 100 papers and has written over 10 book chapters.
