Dr. Sai Yendamuri serves as a Professor and Chair of Thoracic surgery at the Roswell Park Cancer Institute. He attended the prestigious All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi, India. He completed his training in thoracic surgery with an emphasis on thoracic oncology at the MD Anderson Cancer Center in Texas. In addition, he spent two years in India (2013 – 2015) to establish two thoracic surgery units in Hyderabad.

Dr. Yendamuri’s main areas of expertise are minimally invasive thoracic surgery, esophageal cancer, complex esophageal surgery for benign esophageal pathology, lung cancer, complex lung surgery for benign lung pathology, mesothelioma, mediastinal tumors, tracheal surgery and photodynamic therapy. In addition to his clinical duties, Dr. Yendamuri serves as the Director of the Thoracic Surgery Research Laboratory. The laboratory works on risk prediction using genomic markers, the impact on microbiome on lung cancer progression and the role of APOBEC in carcinogenesis.

Dr. Yendamuri is board certified by the American Board of Surgery and American Board of Thoracic Surgery. He is a member of several prestigious surgical societies and serves on the editorial boards of various journals. He has published over 125 peer reviewed publications - several in top tier journals, and book chapters. He has conducted several workshops in video – assisted thoracic surgery and interventional bronchoscopy and plays an active role in global thoracic surgical training.
