Dr. Sai Yendamuri, a general thoracic surgeon, attended the prestigious All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi, India. He completed general surgical training at the University of Pennsylvania and the New York Hospital Queens. Following this, he completed a Thoracic Surgery Fellowship at the prestigious MD Anderson Cancer Center, which also included training in lung transplantation at the Washington University, St. Louis, Missouri. Dr. Yendamuri has trained with several leaders of thoracic surgery in the United States.

After training, Dr. Yendamuri practiced at the Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center and with the State University of New York at Buffalo, quickly rising to the level of Associate Professor. During his six-year tenure, he established several successful novel clinical programs including endobronchial ultrasound (EBUS), transcervical extended mediastinal lymphadenectomy (TEMLA), intrapleural photodynamic therapy and intrapleural heated chemotherapy programs for pleural malignancy. He is also known in the region for advanced tracheal surgery and complex esophageal resections. Dr. Yendamuri is board certified by the American Board of Surgery and American Board of Thoracic Surgery. He is a member of several prestigious surgical societies such as the Association for Academic Surgery, the Society of University Surgeons, the American College of Surgeons, the American College of Chest Physicians, the Society for Thoracic Surgery and the American Association for Thoracic Surgery. Dr. Yendamuri has won several awards for his work in the field of thoracic surgery, having published over 70 peer-reviewed manuscripts and several book chapters.

Dr. Yendamuri joined the team at Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center in 2015 as Professor of Oncology and Chair, Department of Thoracic Surgery.
