Qianli Ma, MD, PhD

Dr. Qianli Ma is a graduate of Tongji Medical University (MD) and got Ph.D. in Peking University Health Science Center. He received training in General Surgery and Thoracic Surgery at Wuhan Union Hospital and China Japan Friendship Hospital. After completing a year working in Wuhan Union Hospital, he joined the faculty at China Japan Friendship Hospital and is currently a Thoracic Surgeon in China-Japan Friendship Hospital.

Dr. Ma is a committee member of the Thoracic Surgery Beijing Medical Association. He has participated in the treatment of lung cancer, esophageal cancer and mediastinal tumor patients. He started performing vats lobectomies in 2012 after the study of the technique at Duke Medical Center, where he learned the double ports technique with Dr. Thomas D’Amico. Dr. Ma has also been involved in lung transplantation after receiving a training in the lung transplant center at Duke University Hospital.

Dr. Ma’s research area is in the molecular types for lung cancer and Three-Dimensional Reconstruction for the small lung nodules. He has published 31 papers (first author 24, SCI 5) in the Annals of Thoracic Surgery, Journal of Cardiothoracic Surgery and so on. He was selected as editors in 4 books, and was invited by IASLC for oral presentation in 2013, for poster presentation in 2015. He is holding 4 patents, and serving as principal investigator for two experimental researches.
