Federico Venuta is Professor and Chief of Thoracic Surgery Unit, Policlinico Umberto I, University of Rome SAPIENZA, Policlinico Umberto. Prof. Venuta is leading the Head Lung Transplantation Program and is the President of the European Association of Thoracic Surgeons (ESTS).
His major research interests include lung cancer surgery, tumors of the mediastinum, tumors of the pleura, tumors of the oesophagus, chest wall tumors, reconstructive procedures of the bronchi and pulmonary artery, airway surgery, minimally invasive thoracic surgery, operative endoscopy of the airway (laser and stents), lung transplantation and surgical treatment of respiratory failure (surgical and bronchoscopic lung volume reduction).Federico Venuta is author or co-author of 846 publications: chapters in national and international textbooks: 53; scientific papers in national and international journals: 346, 264 indexed in Pubmed Central; presentations at meetings: 442; chapters on internet: 9.
