Dr Tartarone, graduated in Medicine at the Federico II University of Naples Italy in 1993. In 1998 he achieved a postgraduate specialization  in Medical Oncology at the Catholic University of Rome.

Dr Tartarone is presently medical executive at the Department of Onco-Hematology of the Referral Cancer Center of Basilicata, IRCCS-CROB, Rionero in Vulture, Italy.

Dr Tartarone 's main scientific interest includes the medical treatment of lung cancer. 

Dr Tartarone is a member of the European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO), the Italian Association of Medical Oncology (AIOM) and the Italian Association of Thoracic Oncology (AIOT). 

Dr Tartarone is author or coauthor of more than 50 publications in peer-reviewed journals.
