Prof. Cheong Lim, MD, PhD graduated his medical school (Seoul National University, College of Medicine) in 1992. Then he got his cardiothoracic residency in Seoul National University. Finishing his obligatory military service for three years, he was trained as a cardiovascular surgeon at the same hospital. Working as a staff surgeon in Sejong General Hospital in Bucheon, South Korea, he moved to the Seoul National University Bundang Hospital, which has been widely known as the First One-Hundred Percent Full Digital Hospital in the World. Now, he is an associate professor in the Cardiovascular Center whose interests are adult and pediatric cardiovascular surgery. He is one of the most enthusiastic experts in robot-assisted cardiac surgery (trained in East Carolina University Heart Institute for one-year under the mentorship of Prof. Randolf Chitwood and Prof. Wiley Nifong) and minimally invasive, interventional HYBRID cardiovascular surgery. He is working in the Cardiovascular Center, Seoul National University Bundang Hospital. His major research subjects are development of percutaneous or sutureless heart valve prosthesis, mechanical assist device and clinical study in geriatric patients. He was the former chair of the Database and Medical Informatics Committee of Korean Society of Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery. And also he was the representative of International Database Project in the Asian Society of CardioVascular and Thoracic Surgery.
