Dr. Dudek obtained his medical degree from Lublin University School of Medicine (Lublin, Poland) and completed his basic postgraduate training in the United Kingdom (East Midlands and West Midlands Deanery). He undertook his thoracic surgical training at Birmingham Heartlands Hospital (Birmingham, UK), Saarland University Medical Center in Homburg (Germany) and completed it at the University Hospital Erlangen (Germany) in 2016. In 2017 Dr. Dudek defended his MD thesis at the Friedrich-Alexander University Erlangen-Nuremberg in Erlangen.
In 2018 Dr. Dudek was appointed as a consultant thoracic surgeon in the Department of Thoracic Surgery at the University Hospital Erlangen. He is a departmental audit and quality management lead.
Dr. Dudek’s areas of interest include lung cancer surgery, minimally invasive thoracic surgery and chest wall surgery. He is a member of the European Society of Thoracic Surgeons (ESTS) and the European Association for Cardio-Thoracic Surgery (EACTS). He serves as a reviewer for several prominent journals.
