Lei Zhang, MD

Dr. Lei Zhang graduated from Wuhan University (Bachelor’ Degree) and the Second Military Medical University (M.D.) (SMMU). He received training in General Surgery and Vascular Surgery at Changhai Hospital, which was the first affiliated hospital of SMMU. Dr. Zhang is a member of International Society of Endovascular Specialists (ISES), a young editorial board member of Chinese Journal of Clinical Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery and a reviewer of Chinese Journal of General Surgery. 

His main clinical interests include: the diagnosis and minimally invasive treatment of aortic dissection, aortic aneurysm and carotid artery stenosis, as well as the mechanism study of aortic dissection. He has published 9 papers in peer-reviewed journals as first or co-first author, and been invited as a speaker at the 12th Chinese Vascular Surgery Congress. He is also involved in a prospective, randomized clinical trial about the potential effect of glucocorticoids on the prognosis of aortic dissection.
