Dr. Gang Wang is a Professor at West China Hospital/West China School of Medicine, Sichuan University, China. He obtained his medical degree in respiratory medicine from Sichuan University in 2004 and undertook Post-doctoral research in respiratory pharmacology at West China Hospital from 2004 to 2006. From 2011 to 2012, he received clinical research training in asthma as a senior visiting scholar at Hunter Medical Research Institute, University of Newcastle and at Woolcock Research Institute of Medicine, University of Sydney, Australia. Afterwards, he got the sponsorship to receive ATS MECOR Levels 1 to 4 training in Hanoi, Vietnam and Cesme, Turkey. Prof. Wang now leads a program of asthma research, and is also interested in chronic cough. He has strong collaborations with Hunter Medical Research Institute, University of Newcastle, Woolcock Research Institute of Medicine, University of Sydney, Australia, and The University of Pittsburgh Asthma Institute at UPMC., USA. Dr. Wang is acting as one co-PI in West China in Austral-Asian Severe Asthma Network (ASAN)/Severe Asthma Web-based Database (SAWD).
