Dr. Sahajal Dhooria was born and educated in Jaipur (India). He completed his medical school (M.B.B.S) in 2005 from All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi, and subsequently completed the Residency Program (MD) in Medicine from the same institute in 2010. He joined the DM fellowship in Pulmonary and critical care medicine at the Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research, Chandigarh in 2011, which he completed in 2013.

He is currently working as Assistant Professor in the Department of Pulmonary Medicine at the Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research, Chandigarh, India. 

He has been involved in the undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and training programs during the periods of his residency and fellowship respectively, and now is involved in training of postgraduates and DM fellows.

His research areas include interventional pulmonology, sarcoidosis, tuberculosis and diffuse parenchymal lung diseases. He also maintains keen interest in critical care and sleep medicine.

Dr. Dhooria has about 100 publications to his credit in national and international journals. He has also contributed chapters in national and international books. He is a recipient of the Silver medal at the International Biology Olympiad 2000 held in Turkey. He was awarded the Smt. Kirpal Kaur Medal for Best House Physician for the year 2007 at the AIIMS, New Delhi. He has received an appreciation award for high quality research on the Annual Research Day 2016 at the PGIMER, Chandigarh.
