Kwan-Hwa Chi, MD

Kwan-Hwa Chi is professor and section chief on Radiation Therapy & Oncology of Shin-Kong Memorial Hospital. He is also an affiliated faculty in National Yang-Ming University, Taipei, Taiwan. He graduated from Nation Yang-Ming medial college 1982 and received his radiation oncology resident training and a joint fellowship training program of medical oncology during that period. He was one of the very few physicians who had Taiwan board certification from those two modalities. He had been an in house research fellow at Comprehensive Cancer Center, University of Wisconsin, Madison, USA in 1991-1993. He was actively involved in field of clinical oncology and basic research since then. He has been sections chief of chemotherapy and section chief of radiation oncology in Taipei Veterans General Hospital. He moved to current position after professorship granted in 2003. He is currently active involved in the research on tumor microenvironment, radio and chemosensitizer, immunotherapy and heperthermia besides clinical work. He is how president of Taiwan Society of Hyperthemic Oncology. He was in the editorial board of “Frontiers Radiation Oncology” and he is an active member of AACR, ASCO. He has been invited speakers at may meetings and symposiums.

Dr. Chi is expertized in general oncology from various points of view. He is specialized in integrating different modalities together for patients benefit. His research interest focuses on translation work on radiotherapy and immunology.
