Dr Michael Hsin received his medical degree from Cambridge University, UK. He underwent Cardiothoracic Specialist training in London, UK (Royal Brompton, St Bartholomew’s and London Chest Hospitals), and a research fellowship at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Boston, USA. After a period as Assistant Professor at the Chinese University of Hong Kong, he spent two years at the Toronto General Hospital Lung Transplant Program, and was active in both clinical lung transplantation as well as basic and translational research. He is currently an Associate Consultant at the Queen Mary Hospital Department of Cardiothoracic Surgery, Hong Kong. His research interest is focused on clinical lung transplantation, ex vivo lung perfusion, biomarkers of donor lung injury in transplantation, and metabolomics in lung transplantation.
He is currently an Associate Editor of the Asia Pacific Society of Respirology Case Reports, and he is on the editorial board of the Journal of Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery, and Thoracic Cancer.
