Atsuya Takeda, MD, PhD

Dr. Takeda is Director of Radiation Oncology Center, at Ofuna Chuo Hospital, Kamakura, Japan. He is also a visiting professor at Tokai University and visiting lecturer at Keio University . His main research interests include stereotactic body radiotherapy (SBRT) for lung cancer, hepatocellular carcinoma and oligometastases. He has treated more than 1500 patients with SBRT so far.

Dr. Takeda graduated and received his medical degree from Keio University School of Medicine in 1994. He obtained a Ph.D. at Radiation Oncology of Keio University in 2009.

He completed his Radiation Oncology and Radiology Residency at Keio University. He worked at National Defense Medical College as an Assistant Professor, Keio University as an Assistant Professor and Tokyo Metropolitan Hiroo Hospital as a Staff Doctor. In 2005, Dr. Takeda was recruited to Ofuna Chuo Hospital as a Director of Radiation Oncology Center.

Dr. Takeda is a Board Certified Radiation Oncologist of Japan Radiological Society and Japanese Society for Therapeutic Radiology and Oncology.

Dr. Takeda’s research focuses on SBRT. He has published over 70 papers. He recently published a textbook entitled “The SBRT Book”.
