Kurt Ruetzler, MD

Dr. Ruetzler graduated from the Medical University of Vienna, Austria and subsequently underwent residency in Anesthesiology and Intensive Care Medicine at the General Hospital of Vienna, Medical University of Vienna. After completion of the residency, Dr. Ruetzler joined the faculty staff of the University Hospital of Zurich, Institute of Anesthesiology, Switzerland. After three years, Dr. Ruetzler moved to the United States, where he joined the faculty staff of Cleveland Clinic, Main Campus in Cleveland, Ohio. He is currently working in the Departments of Outcomes Research and General Anesthesiology is affiliated with Case Western Reserve University. (www.or.org and www.ccf.org)

Dr. Ruetzler was trained in general, cardiothoracic and vascular, and pediatric anesthesiology, Intensive Care Medicine, (in- and out-of-hospital) Emergency Medicine and Pain Medicine.

Dr. Ruetzler’s scientific focus is outcomes research, thoracic procedures including airway management, emergency medicine, and thermoregulation.

Dr. Ruetzler published more than 50 scientific articles in several high –profile journals, several book chapters and serves as a peer-reviewer of several major scientific journals.

Dr. Ruetzler is a member of several international societies including the American Society of Anesthesiology, American Heart Association, and European Society of Anesthesia.
