Camilla Poggi, MD

Dr Camilla Poggi gained her Medical Degree with distinction at University of Rome “Sapienza”, Italy in 2008. She completed her residency program in Thoracic Surgery  at University of Rome “Sapienza” from 2009 to 2015. Since 2015 Dr Poggi is attending a PhD Program in Oncology at University of Rome “Sapienza” throughout she is performing teaching activity of Thoracic Surgery at Nursing Courses “Sapienza” University of Rome. 

She trained and continues to be involved in clinical research in the field of lung cancer surgery including lung resections, bronchial and vascular reconstruction procedures, VATS lobectomy, chest wall resection and reconstruction, airway stenting and endoscopic procedures; chest wall deformities procedures, tracheal surgery and mediastinal tumor resection. Her current researching focus includes stem cell-related lung cancer interaction. 

Dr Poggi gained grants funded by the “Sapienza” University of Rome (Ateneo) as Principal Investigator in 2016 (title: “The role of Mediastinal Mesenchymal Stem Cell Microenvironment in Non-small Cell Lung Cancer Progression”) and as co-Investigator in 2015 (title: “Intracellular signal patterns in Ischemia-Reperfusion injury after lung transplant”).
