Dr. Francesco Petrella is a Deputy Director Thoracic Surgeon at the Department of Thoracic Surgery, European Institute of Oncology in Milan, Italy.

His main clinical interests focus on thoracic surgical oncology, tracheobronchial laser and stenting and non small cell lung cancer therapy; his research interests focus on  regenerative medicine and stem cell technologies in thoracic surgery.

Dr. Petrella serves as editorial board member and reviewer of many journals focusing on cardiothoracic surgery as well as on regenerative medicine; he is member of the regenerative medicine working group of the European Association for Cardio Thoracic  Surgery.

Dr. Petrella’s teaching activity focuses on  thoracic oncology, surgical physiopathology of the chest and anatomy; he is currently  Medical Consultant for Civil and Criminal Court of Milan (Italy) for medical responsibility.
