Dr. Elefteriades received his MD from Yale, trained at Yale, joined the Yale faculty, and rapidly rose to Professor and Chief.
He performs all forms of adult cardiac surgery, including over 300 heart transplants and thousands of operations on the thoracic aorta
His work has defined the current standards for repair of the ascending thoracic aorta. Dr. Elefteriades has served on the Board of Governors of the American College of Cardiology. He has authored more than 350 scientific articles and 100 chapters and 10 books. He is Editor-in-Chief of the journal AORTA.
Aside from the many medical texts he has authored, Dr. Elefteriades published his first fiction work, the medical thriller Transplant, which was a finalist for best first novel, and his non-fiction inspirational book Extraordinary Hearts.
