Anna Franzone, MD, PhD, is currently employed as Senior Researcher at the Department of Cardiology of the Bern University Hospital in Switzerland.

Her main areas of expertise include atherosclerosis, percutaneous coronary intervention and transcatheter aortic valve implantation.

Dr. Franzone has been involved in several research projects focusing on the clinical aspects of percutaneous interventions for the treatment of coronary or peripheral artery disease and of other structural heart diseases.

She is an active member of the Italian Society of Cardiology (SIC), the Italian Society of Invasive Cardiology (SICI-GISE), the European Association of Percutaneous Cardiovascular Interventions (EAPCI), the European Association of Cardiovascular Imaging (EACVI), the Heart Failure Association of the ESC (HFA) and the Working Group on Cellular Biology of the European Society of Cardiology.
