Special Issue: European Perspectives in Thoracic Surgery---- for the 22nd European Conference on General Thoracic Surgery

The 22nd European Conference on General Thoracic Surgery by European Society of Thoracic Surgeons (ESTS) is to be held in Copenhagen, from June 15 – 18, 2014. European Society of Thoracic Surgeons (ESTS, www.ests.org) is the largest international organization purely dedicated to general thoracic surgery with over 1300 members.

As preparation for the conference, the special issue in JTD, “European Perspectives in Thoracic Surgery” guest-edited by Dr Alessandro Brunelli, will be highlighted in the meeting. This special issue shares European experiences and perspectives in thoracic surgery, including VATS, Robotic assisted surgeries, adjuvant or neoadjuvant chemotherapy and molecular biology, European database project, educational platform and institutional accreditation in thoracic surgery. Management of various thoracic tumors, such as lung cancer, thymic tumor, malignant pleural mesothelioma, and esophageal cancer will be discussed.
