Not really “too late love comes”: Journal of Thoracic Disease is available on iPhone

Are you up to your neck in daily clinical practices? Then you may need up-to-date information available when and where you want it, and delivered in an easy-to-use format. Starting from January 2013, Journal of Thoracic Disease, published by the Pioneer Bioscience Publishing Company (http://www.thepbpc.org/), offers a mobile edition developed by the technical team of DXY (www.dxy.com) and, is downloadable by searching ‘JTD’ in App Store (https://itunes.apple.com/en/app/jtd/id590415083?mt=8), to help you make the most of your time, even on the go (Figure 1).

The JTD iPhone Edition comes as a charge-free mobile device application. It contains bimonthly issues that combine all content from the Journal of Thoracic Disease print edition found on www.jthoracdis.com (Figure 2A). iPhone users at any place of the world can read our in-depth journal articles updated as they are available online (Figure 2B).

Apart from viewing the current issue and all achieved issues of JTD (Figure 2B,C) in Full Text and PDF formats (Figure 3A,B), the JTD app also allows you to keep track of your reading via the Favorites and History links, automatically refresh with the most up-to-date content, and share articles via email (Figure 3C). We believe that JTD iPhone Edition will bring together the best of print and digital to ensure you a truly enhanced, unique reading experience. “We are dedicated to cloud collaboration in journal publishing”, according to Dr Prof Guangqiao Zeng, MD, the Editorial Director, “and specifically, to making the most of internet to boost the quality and reputation of JTD”. Sometime later, JTD will also be accessible with applications on android devices. “The release of JTD on Apple store has been a late-breaking goodie over nearly one year’s arduous network development, and a requiting love for all our fans that has come not ‘too late’ as Jennifer Warnes sings”, said Dr Zeng.
