Multiple pulmonary ground glass opacities: is it time for new guidelines?

Abstract

The National Lung Screening Trial (NLST) enrolled 53,454 current or former heavy smokers aged 55 to 74 years, and showed a relative reduction in mortality from lung cancer with low-dose computed tomography (CT) screening of 20.0% [95% confidence interval (CI), 6.8 to 26.7; P=0.004] (1).
