Juan M. Pericàs, Eduard Quintana, José M. Miró

Abstract

Williams et al. used data on infective endocarditis (IE) cases receiving cardiac surgery in the United States and Canada in the 2011 to 2016’ period from the Society of Thoracic Surgeons Adult Cardiac Surgery Database (STS ACSD) to investigate risk factors for 30-day mortality and major postoperative morbidity (i.e., stroke, deep sternal infection, prolonged ventilation, new onset renal failure, and/or reoperation) (1).
